Dacon’s Mailit plugin brings the full power of your email client to FileMaker. You can send and recieve emails using the POP, IMAP and SMTP protocols. As well as the simple sending and recieving of plain text messages, there are many advanced features:
Mailit brings the ability to:
- Store attachments in container fields for better management
- Validate email addresses online before sending a message
- Delete messages from server after a certain number of days
- Access full email headers of incoming and outgoing emails
- Specify custom timeout for all connections
- Exclude large emails from download if needed
Send rich text messages from FileMaker fields, Preview mode layouts and multi-pages FileMaker Layouts directly as e-mail messages (WYSIWYG). Advanced SMTP authentication and SSL supported. Integrate common email client features into FileMaker such as message priority and progress dialog. Receive and view emails including attachments and inline images directly into FileMaker via POP and IMAP. Attach any container field data types such as images and videos to your emails. Even clipboard content can now be attached directly from within FileMaker. Optionally leave messages on server for processing with other e-mail clients or delete after specific number of days.
Mailit lets you send rich content emails from FileMaker. This allows you for example to send well designed and personalized mass mailings including formatted text and pictures directly from FileMaker. Convert FileMaker Rich Text into HTML which allows alteration of the HTML code directly within FileMaker. Exclude online-falsified email addresses before sending. With FileMaker and Mailit you can also manage response to your mailings as Mailit receives email directly into FileMaker.
Note: Dacons also have mail.it 2.5 which supports FileMaker 6 and earlier.
I think this is a good plug-in but can anyone objectively tell me its disadvantages. Please. And thank you.
It is very frustrating, that they still haven’t updated their plugin for FileMaker 16. It doesn’t work with 16, I tested it.
They also don’t answer my support tickets, even though I have purchased the product. I am loosing faith in this company. I will have to find an alternative product.
